The ship he was on, HMS Northumberland, was sent to St. Helena, where the exiled French Emperor arrived on the 15th Oct 1815, and was to remain until he died in 1821.
Boney and Betsy is the story of Napoleon's attempt to escape from St. Helena. His daring escape was assisted by a young English girl named Betsy, and her family.
His escape was almost successful, but he turned back and returned to the Island, to save Betsy and her family, who were accused of assisting him to escape, and were going to be executed.
