X (Xiuying Li), and the extremely beautiful Skye McQueen, have been best friends in Foshan, China, since they were children. Skye was once the savior of X, but terrible attacks against the girls as teen-agers have caused their roles to reverse.
All grown up now, the two women plan on enjoying a vacation together, but it all goes awry when Skye, who arrives in Australia one day before X, disappears without a trace.
The Australian authorities don't have a clue, and the plethora of glory hungry super heroes are so busy taking photo-ops that they are never around when the common people really need their help.
When X is murdered trying to rescue Skye, the ancient Chinese god Kuan-Ti intervenes and X is reborn as the very thing she hates most in this world, a super hero. Now, the criminals who kidnapped Skye are going to pay dearly.
And, it is no contest, that is at least until X has to fight the boss of the criminal empire, who has a secret of his own.
This is a story of transformation, and blends the genres of super hero/fantasy/and buddy story, into a tightly woven tale of two women and the sacrifices they make for each other in the name of love, sisterhood, and friendship.
